Honors Program Monthly Announcements & Information
NCHC Research Submissions (New Orleans, LA) - Due February 26
The application period is now open for students to submit proposals to present at the NCHC Annual Conference in New Orleans, LA, from November 6-10th. Students can 1) submit proposals to present original research or fine arts in the Student Poster Sessions or 2) submit a proposal to present a research paper in a discussion type format as part of a Student Interdisciplinary Research Panel. Proposals must be submitted to the Honors office for prior to submitting to the NCHC.
If a proposal is selected for presentation by the NCHC selection committee, the Honors Program will determine which and how many presenters will travel to the conference. This number depends upon the funding available to cover conference costs.
All proposals must include a well written, 200-300 word abstract that summarizes the student’s research, including outcomes. In addition, abstracts should clearly state the significance of the project in terms that can be understood by a general scholarly audience and clearly convey the student’s original analytical, critical, or creative contribution to his or her discipline. Proposals also require an approximately 50-word session description for the conference program.
Students wishing to submit a proposal for the conference should begin by contacting me, Dr. Mann, or Stacey Wanta for additional information and instructions. Also, please visit the NCHC website https://www.nchchonors.org/events/nchc19/submit for specific poster or proposal information. It's a great opportunity to present at a national conference and a great way to represent the SNC Honors Program!
