Welcome one and all to the first "My Phi Kappa Phi" article in this first edition of Honors Pulse! We are delighted that you have chosen to read this section and our Pulse as a whole! Before you read any further on Phi Kappa Phi, let’s answer the question that you likely have on your mind right now: what IS Phi Kappa Phi?
As the honors society itself puts it, Phi Kappa Phi is “The nation’s oldest and most selective multidisciplinary collegiate honor society [which] initiates more than 30,000 members a year on 300 campuses in the United States and the Philippines" (Phi Kappa Phi). You can read more about PKP here.
Many of our St. Norbert members choose to accept initiation to PKP because of its prestige, its connections, and undoubtedly, its scholarships. Last spring, SNC had four Phi Kappa Phi members apply to receive one of seventy five $1000 PKP "Study Abroad Scholarships!" The Honors Program hopes to increase this number for the following spring.
If you are a member of Phi Kappa Phi at St. Norbert College, you are already eligible to apply for this wonderful scholarship! If you are not yet a member of Phi Kappa Phi, fret not! Any student with a 3.75 GPA or higher is also allowed to apply! We encourage you to head on over to this website for any extra info you might be looking for.
