Honors Around the World: Sydney Gauthier

October 21, 2016

Sydney Gauthier, a third-year member of the honors program, is spending time abroad this semester in Europe! Although she lives in France, attending Université Catholique de Lille, she has been spending time traveling throughout France and even outside of it! According to Sydney, “Some of the coolest trips I’ve taken have been to places that inspired artists of the Impressionist Era. At the beginning of my study abroad, for example, I visited Claude Monet’s house and gardens in Giverny where he lived and worked for 40 years.” Traveling and especially the artistic side of traveling is very important to Sydney, as she is an International Studies and French double major as well as an art minor. “For me, it’s amazing to actually see the things that inspired my favorite artists in real life!”
