Going abroad is arguably one of the most shaping experiences for a young person. From short-term exchanges to entire semesters, immersing oneself in a new culture--and sometimes even a new language--is an opportunity that can change a life forever.
The Honors Program, like St. Norbert College in general, prides itself in sending many of its students abroad. In fact, annual honors-only trips allow students to study religion, heritage, and other aspects of a specific culture abroad. Both this year and next, honors faculty-led trips to Spain will allow students to explore various aspects of Western tradition while simultaneously earning advanced core curriculum credit. Additionally, students can satisfy an honors required course by simply spending the semester abroad. Either way, you cannot go wrong with these incredible opportunities!
The Honors Program will continue encouraging students to challenge themselves and spend time abroad, and just as importantly, to share those experiences with us when they return.
It's almost time to welcome home the seven honors students who have spent their fall semesters abroad (in the six countries indicated by the graphic). Safe travels, and we can't wait to hear about your experiences!
