On Saturday, November 12th, approximately 30 junior and senior honors students participated in the Titletown Brewing Company tour, sponsored by the Honors Council and organized by juniors Chaz Kestly, Chandler Brennan, Tyler Butts, and Jack Eckelaert. Students were given the chance to sample four different beers, ranging from the beloved Norbertine Abbey Ale to the gold medal-winning Boathouse Pilsner. Additionally, students toured the grounds, seeing step-by-step how each of the five ingredients found in beer--grain, water, yeast, hops, and, of course, love--are incorporated into the final brew. Students also visited the bottling room, where the tour paused to give everyone the chance to drink from the “beerbler” (a play on the word “bubbler”), from which beer flowed instead of water. Afterwards, students gathered at the rooftop bar to finish off the evening with even more craft beer, a whole lot of conversation, and a commemorative pint glass. Overall, the event was a success.
