Post SNC Update:
“Upon graduation, I moved back home to Calgary, Alberta where I began working for an oil and gas consulting company doing business development and project management. After working there for a year, I realized I didn’t love what I was doing and with the declining price in oil, I decided that was probably the best time to leave the industry and began looking for a new career. I became a purchasing analyst for FGL Sports, the largest sporting good dealer in Canada (similar to DICK’S in the U.S), working for the Team Sports and Electronics Categories. I had the opportunity to deal with some of the largest sporting goods vendors in North America and found a company I loved working for.
However, I have always had a dream of going to law school and was accepted to Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law in Halifax Nova Scotia where I began my JD degree in September of this year. I am already 3 months in and love the schooling; it is a lot of work, but I find it very interesting. At the school I am a member of the Environmental Law Students Society, Lawyers Without Borders, and the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers. I have also taken on a Pro Bono project with Pro Bono Students Canada working with the East Coast Environmental Law Association to compile an information library of all relevant case law and legislation that may be able to help inform the community of any environmental issues they are having.”
We are so proud to call Ashley Wilson an alumnus of this program, and we wish her the best of luck on all future endeavors!
