Get to Know Our Staff: Joshua Bregger

February 17, 2017

Whereas the work accomplished by Honors Program staff both reflects and contributes to the excellence of the ever-growing Honors Program at SNC, it is important that we introduce the great people who make it happen!

Meet the one and only Joshua Bregger, the first to be featured in a series of articles on the SNC Honors staff! Josh is an eccentric Geology major and Philosophy minor from Waukesha, WI. He is a member of the Honors office staff, serving as a social media specialist and writer for the Honors Pulse. Josh is a veteran to the Honors office staff team, as the current sophomore was also a social media specialist last year helping to lay the foundations of the program’s budding digital presence. Nowadays he can be found on the couch in the Honors Program office laughing with Honors Office Coordinator Stacey Wanta and managing the Phi Kappa Phi Twitter page, assisting with the Honors Twitter page, and writing updates for the “My Phi Kappa Phi” column and articles for the “Ask Gerty” column of the Pulse.

Joshua Bregger chose to join the St. Norbert College Honors Program - bringing with him his animated presence - because he knew that it would challenge himself academically and “force [his] mind to grow.” As a high school senior selecting a college at which to pursue his post-secondary education, Josh wanted to continue to experience the rigorous coursework reflected in his numerous AP classes. Josh sees the Honors Program as his opportunity to accomplish his college goals as he prepares for a dream career as a volcanologist, adding that “my passion for this field of study burns as bright as molten lava!”

In the meantime, Josh can be found seeking out other creative passions. He was honored to have earned the Woody Herman Jazz award for aptitude in jazz musicianship within his high school jazz band. At SNC, he is a member of - who would have guessed it? - the Geology Club, BIG, and SNC Radio (be sure to tune into “Breggsy’s Beats” for a jam session spun by Josh himself!). Despite his involvement in the Honors Program and many other student organizations on campus, Josh is perhaps the most fond of his academic achievement thus far, saying “I am proud to have been on the St. Norbert College Dean's List for two out of my three semesters here, and I hope to achieve a spot on that list for many more semesters to come.”

The Honors Program would like to thank Josh for his dedicated participation, and wishes him continued success during his remaining time here at St. Norbert College!
