"Museum as Classroom": A Unique Honors Experience

July 5, 2017

During the past semester's spring break (such a long time ago!) the honors program offered a first of many off campus experience. Instead of heading to warm weather and sunshine, six program members made the trip to Chicago for a completely different type of break, a "brainy break" so to speak. Led by Art professor extraordinaire, Fr. Jim Neilson, the students spent six busy days in Chicago; visiting art museums, attending various exhibits, viewing architectural masterpieces (Robie House, Frank Lloyd Wright's 1909 masterpiece), extensive discussion, and just a little bit of walking! This experience, aptly named, "Museum as Classroom", was a truly unique and memorable opportunity that the program hopes to offer again in the very near future!
