Post SNC update:
“Upon graduating from SNC in 2014, I began a year-long advocacy fellowship in Washington, D.C. at FairVote, a non-partisan voting reform organization. After the fellowship ended, I joined FairVote's staff in the communications department serving as the Deputy Director of Communications for two years. FairVote is a national leader in democracy reform, and focuses on the structural shortcomings of our democracy which have created the polarized and dysfunctional political climate we are seeing today. My time there allowed me to learn more about our voting system (and the innovative solutions available to us) than I thought possible! It gave me a close up look at the legislative process, and furthermore, gave me first-hand experience building an issue-campaign in the media and among citizens. After learning so much in the communications field, I decided that a law degree would open more doors for me both professionally and as a concerned citizen. I began law school in August of 2017 at William & Mary Law School in Williamsburg, VA, and look forward to graduating in 2020. While nothing compares to cozy De Pere, WI, or the lively lounges of Bergstrom Hall, I absolutely fell in love with living in our nation's capital, and hope to return to Washington D.C. upon graduation.”
We wish Austin nothing but the best and are excited to see what the future holds for him!
