"A Senior's Reflection"

March 19, 2018

I am still in utter disbelief that I am senior who has only 2 months left at SNC!  They warned me that the time would go fast, and they were so right! But, looking back, it is crazy to think of everything that I have learned and been able to accomplish in my 4 years as a Green Knight.

As a senior in High School, I was very unsure of what I wanted to do when it came to college.  I visited a lot of schools, considered playing college basketball, but I visited SNC after a friend suggested it, and I fell in love with everything about the campus.  I decided on St. Norbert in late February, which also is when I applied for the Honors program (with some gentle encouragement from my mother).  Both of these decisions have helped make me into to person I am today.

As a member of the Honors Program, I had the opportunity to live in Bergstrom, where I met many people who will be lifelong friends. I was able to not only live with these great people, but also take classes with them and continue the class discussions back in Bergstrom.  After leaving Bergstrom, the time has flown by.  I was able to go to Spain as part of the Honors Global Seminar, which was a once in a lifetime experience with my best friends by my side.  As a tour guide, I'm able to try and convince future Green Knights to not only come to SNC, but join the Honors program.  The Honors program is truly a family, as cliche as that may sound.

If I had to give advice to anyone, it would be simple: "It's okay to not know or not have a plan."  I came in to college undecided regarding a major, and am about to graduate pretty undecided when it comes to a career, and I've learned to embrace it.  Instead of worrying about the end result looks like, embrace the process of learning what you like and don't like.  For me, it was deciding on education, but then realizing that I was not meant to be a teacher.  Along the way, I learned so many incredible things about myself and had so many great experiences at the great school!

I wasn't planning on writing this much, but I could spend hours talking about how great my experience at SNC has been! St. Norbert and the Honors program has truly shaped me into the person I am today!
