This year St. Norbert hosted it’s 10th SNC Day, where students, alumni, and parents came together to experience the colleges radical hospitality. Each year student organizations, campus departments, and local vendors all hold their own small booths to raise money for different causes or to raise awareness of any given issue. Vendors from the area come to show their products and food trucks provide an array of meals while musical entertainment can be heard all around. Multiple outside artists came to perform, though the day ended with the SNC Fall Music Concert, which showcased talents found specifically on SNC’s campus.
SNC Day 2018 featured its typical events including boat rides, segway tours, a horse-drawn wagon, and a football game against Grinnell College in which the Green Knights emerged victorious with a staggering 91-0 score. The day also hosted the seventh annual Don Schneider Memorial 5K Challenge Run, which kicked off at 9:30 a.m. before the beginning of other festivities.
Michels Commons, Phil's Grill and Ed’s Café all opened their doors for the event as well, allowing the community to experience what St. Norbert has to offer for their students on a day to day basis.
Special highlights from this year's event included:
As the day went on, visitors were even able to catch a glimpse of President Brian Bruess and Carol Bruess checking out tables, playing games, helping with demonstrations, or riding around campus on a bicycle.
This year’s event can certainly be considered a roaring success as campus was once again filled to the brim with people coming for a small taste of what life at SNC is truly like. We can’t wait to hold it again next year and see what new activities are in store.
