With the end of the semester quickly approaching, we would like to take a moment to showcase some of the many St. Norbert College Honors Program students who will be heading off to graduate/professional school following graduation!

Joshua Bregger

Graduate/Professional School:

Michigan Technological University, Master’s Degree in Geology

Future Plans:

“I hope to be a volcanologist one day. Whether this means I am working at a volcano observatory or I am teaching and researching at a university, I know what I love and I know I want to make a career out of my passion. It is only because of the love and support that I have received from a wide variety of people here at St. Norbert College and the Honors Program that I am able to achieve these wild dreams. Thank you!”

Noah Buhle

Graduate/Professional School:

Marquette University Law School, JD Program

Future Plans:

“In terms of a future career, I figure I would like to practice one form of law or another, but after an interim period of that I can very well see myself either becoming a professor of law or perhaps going into politics.”

Radek Buss

Graduate/Professional School:

Medical College of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, MD program

Future Plans:

“After attending medical school in Milwaukee, I hope to become a physician who will care for his patients with compassion, empathy, and humility while focused on treating the whole person. Currently, I foresee myself caring for children; however, I am starting medical school open-minded and excited to choose my path as I get more exposure to the career of a physician. Finally, no matter what specific career path I choose in the future, I hope to be in a position where I am able to help, positively influence, and bring joy to those around me.”

Roman Buss

Graduate/Professional School:

Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, JD Program

Future Plans:

“I would like to first practice law in the United States for a few years to gain valuable experience and learn from other attorneys. I'm currently interested in business and international law but that might change as soon as I enter law school. Later on, I would love to work for a company that conducts business in Europe as well as the United States; it would be great to travel for work and utilize my European background. I would also like to express gratitude to all of the wonderful members of our faculty and staff. I would not have the opportunities presented to me today if it was not for their guidance, mentorship, and support. If there are any younger students reading this article, they should make sure to connect with some of the incredible individuals in this community - it's going to make a positive difference in both your personal and professional life.”

Kelly Kuehl

Graduate/Professional School:

School of Medicine and Public Health at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, MD Program

Future Plans:

“I am hoping to become an OB/GYN and open a community health clinic in a high-need area. I am really excited for my future career and to see where medical school takes me!”

Michelle Lobermeier

Graduate/Professional School:

Eastern Michigan University, Clinical Psychology PhD Program

Future Plans:

“At the moment I'm not exactly sure what my future holds, but since my program requires six extra years of education, I'll have some time to figure it out! I'm really passionate about clinical work with patients, but I also love the research process, so it would be great if my future career could include some of each. I'm thinking about possibly working in an academic medical setting after I finish my PhD, but stay tuned to find out for sure!  I am so grateful to St. Norbert College, and the Honors Program specifically, for the never-ending support throughout my time at SNC. The opportunities for personal and professional growth I was able to take advantage of during my undergraduate career has set me apart from my peers at other colleges, and has prepared me well for my future. I'll be sad to leave SNC after the semester, but I feel blessed to have gained so many wonderful memories and lifelong friendships from my time here!”

Julia Novotny

Graduate/Professional School:

Medical College of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, MD Program

Future Plans:

“Right now I'm thinking about specializing in an internal medicine sub-specialty such as gastroenterology or nephrology, although I am open to exploring different specialties through shadowing and clinical rotations!”

Alexandra Paleka

Graduate/Professional School:

Peabody College (College of Education) at Vanderbilt University, Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration with a concentration in Student Affairs

Future Plans:

“After moving to Nashville, TN this summer and completing the two-year degree, my plan is to work in universities across the U.S. I hope to influence student development and college policy by working primarily in the areas of Title IX, Diversity and Inclusion, and eventually administration - possibly as a VP of Student Life or a Title IX Coordinator. I'm open to living in new places and exploring the different types of universities to see what would be a good fit for me, but right now I'm leaning toward a private liberal arts university like SNC or a women's college.”

Hanna Reinke

Graduate/Professional School:

Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, JD Program

Future Plans:

“I'm not sure exactly what my career will look like after I graduate from law school. I've heard from a lot of current law students that your interests in the law change as you go throughout law school, so I'm trying to keep an open mind. With that being said, I could maybe see myself practicing law in the future as an attorney or possibly doing something else. I really just enjoy the diversification that a law degree provides. I'd also like to again say thank you to all of the people on campus who have been resources for me throughout this process. There were a lot of hurdles that I had to deal with, and it's been great having such a strong support system at SNC to help me through it!”

Hannah Sherfinski

Graduate/Professional School:

University of Wisconsin - Madison, MD-MPH Program

Future Plans:

“After medical school, I hope to become a child abuse pediatrician or a child and adolescent psychiatrist because I have an immense passion for working with child and adolescent victims of various types of trauma. I know there is a huge need for these types of practitioners all over Wisconsin, so I will likely be staying put for a while. That's the direction I think I will go in, but I know it's best to stay open-minded.”

Graceanne Tarsa

Graduate/Professional School:

UW-Milwaukee School of Freshwater Science - Masters Thesis Program

Future Plans:

"I plan to pursue a career focused on research, conservation, and community wide education of aquatic ecosystems.”

Elizabeth Totzke

Graduate/Professional School:

The University of Notre Dame Law School, JD Program

Future Plans:

“After law school, I’m hoping to clerk for a federal district or circuit court judge to get experience and build my resumé. From there, who knows!? I’m interested in coming back to the Fox Cities and working in general practice, but I would also love to teach or do some kind of litigation. We’ll see where the wind takes me!”

It's been such a pleasure having you all on campus and we can't wait to see the amazing things that you go on to do in the future!
